📐 Why cracks are serious ⭐⭐
The oboe body = grenadilla (African blackwood). Dense, hard wood with wonderful sound. BUT: sensitive to temperature and humidity changes! Too dry + cold → heating = wood cracks. A crack = air escapes = oboe won't play. Crack repair (pinning) = possible but expensive and not 100% guaranteed.

1. Upper joint = cracks most often! Especially around the tenons (joints). 2. Lower joint = less common but must check. 3. Bell = rarest. Check UNDER the keys — cracks are often hidden!
