After all, for more than 60 years, the American company with German roots, Gemeinhardt, has held the position of the world leader among the manufacturers of flutes and piccolo flutes.  Miniature masterpieces are specially designed for musicians of all levels: both beginners and professionals will immediately appreciate the pure and refined sound of Gemeinhardt flutes.  Kurt Gemeinhardt, the founder of the company, was the heir of rich and famous masters: he belonged to the fourth generation of flute makers in Germany.  But in the 1920s, Kurt emigrated to the United States.  In 1948, the master founded the Gemeinhardt company.  At first, it produced only fine hand-made instruments for professionals.  However, already in 1952, the Gemeinhardt company expanded, and the flute makers moved to Elkhart (Indiana).  The production of silver and silver-plated flutes of all kinds began in Elkhart.  At the same time, student flutes were developed based on nickel alloy.  Paradox: they have become the most common among musicians in the world!  Conservatory flutes also appeared.  They were both silver-plated and made of pure silver.  And Gemeinhardt professional models are exclusively silver or real gold.  Gemeinhardt currently offers over five categories of flutes.  These are Student, Conservatory and Professional models, as well as alto and bass flutes.  In addition, Gemeinhardt has four categories of piccolo flutes in its arsenal.  These are composite piccolo flutes (made of a plastic-like material), as well as silver and wood small flutes and Roy Seaman models.
