1. Inspection: dents, valve/slide condition, bell, rotor (French horn). 2. Dent removal: professional straightening without damaging lacquer. 3. Valves/slides: lapping, lubrication, spring replacement. 4. Cleaning: ultrasonic or chemical — removing calcium buildup. 5. Polishing and re-lacquering (if needed).

Trumpet: valve check (smoothness, airtightness), bell straightening. Trombone: slide check (smoothness = CRITICAL!), rotor (F-attachment). French horn: rotary mechanism check (the most complex!), linkage alignment. Tuba: valve check, large body cleaning.

🔍 What to Look For in Used Brass
📐 Dents ⭐⭐
The main concern for brass! Small dents on the bell = cosmetic, easily fixed. Dents on a trombone slide = CRITICAL (the slide must move perfectly!). Dents near valves = may affect operation. At SoundsGood = all dents removed by «SoundsGood Services»!
📐 Valves
Must move smoothly! Press = smooth down. Release = spring returns instantly. Sticking, «clicking», slow return = needs lapping. We check every valve at «SoundsGood Services»!
📐 Slide (Trombone!)
The slide = the «heart» of a trombone! Must move ABSOLUTELY smoothly, without the slightest friction. Any dent, bend, or burr = the trombone doesn't play. We check slides with jeweler's precision!
📐 Rotor (French horn)
