Silent system pianos
Real acoustic sound by day and quiet headphone play by night
Pianos with a Silent system are full acoustic pianos with strings, a soundboard and a hammer action, with an added electronic silent mode. By day you play a real string sound; by night you switch on Silent — a rail stops the hammers, sensors read the keys, and the sound goes to headphones, without disturbing family and neighbours. The key point: the authentic acoustic touch is preserved. At SoundsGood — Yamaha Silent (SC3/SH3), Kawai ATX and pianos with the universal Adsilent system. Genuine instruments with a warranty, delivery across Ukraine and help with tuning.

🔇 How the Silent system works
🛑 Stopping the hammers
In silent mode a special rail catches the hammers a moment before they strike the strings — there's no acoustic sound, and the action works as usual.
👁️ Key sensors
Optical or electromagnetic sensors track the movement of each key and pedal without touching the action and pass the data to a sound module.
🎧 Sound in headphones
The module plays quality piano samples (often recorded from a concert grand) into headphones — clean, expressive and with no noise for those around you.
🔄 Two modes in seconds
Switching between acoustic and silent modes takes a few seconds — full acoustic by day, quiet play with no limits by night.
🎻 Who a silent piano is for
🏢 Apartment dwellers
A real acoustic piano with no conflicts with neighbours: silent mode lets you play early in the morning or late at night in headphones.
🌙 For night practice
Busy people and students who can only practise in the evening — full play with no limits on time or volume.
👨👩👧 Families with children
A child practises while the rest of the family rests: silent mode doesn't disturb sleep or work, and the real action develops the right touch.
🎓 Students and teachers
For those who need an authentic acoustic touch to develop technique, but also the option to play quietly at home or in the classroom.
🎯 How to choose a silent piano
🏭 Factory or fitted system
Yamaha Silent and Kawai ATX are integrated at the factory for a specific model. Adsilent/Genio are fitted by a technician to various pianos — a more flexible solution.
🎹 The piano itself
First choose a quality acoustic instrument of the right level and height — Silent adds a mode, but the basis is the acoustic instrument, its sound and touch.
🎧 Sample quality and polyphony
Check the sound quality in silent mode, polyphony and the set of tones. Premium systems (Yamaha SH3) use concert grand samples.
🔌 Connectivity
Check headphone outputs, USB/MIDI, Bluetooth and recording — handy for practising with apps, a metronome and recording your playing.
🔌 Or a digital piano?
If you don't need acoustic at all, a digital piano is simpler and cheaper. Silent is for those who want acoustic plus quiet.
🛡️ Genuine and warranty

❓ Frequently asked questions
What is a piano with a Silent system?
A real acoustic piano with strings and an action, with an added electronic silent mode. By day — an acoustic sound; in Silent mode a rail stops the hammers, sensors read the keys, and the sound goes to headphones.
How does silent mode work?
A rail catches the hammers a moment before they strike the strings (no acoustic), sensors track key and pedal movement, and a module plays piano samples in headphones. Switching takes seconds.
Is the real acoustic touch preserved?
Yes — the keyboard and hammer action stay acoustic, so the playing feel is the same in both modes. In silent mode the hammers simply stop before the strings. That's the main advantage over a digital piano.
How does it differ from a digital piano?
Silent is a full acoustic instrument with strings, to which a quiet mode is added. A digital is fully electronic, with no strings. Silent gives real acoustic and touch plus quiet play; a digital is simpler and cheaper.
What systems are there?
Factory Yamaha Silent (SC3, SH3) and Kawai ATX (and the hybrid AURES with speakers), plus universal Adsilent and Genio fitted to pianos of various brands. They differ in sample quality and features.
Can Silent be fitted to an ordinary piano?
Yes — Adsilent or Genio are fitted by a technician to most modern acoustic pianos, adding a silent mode without replacing the instrument. We'll advise on compatibility, cost and timelines.
Does it need tuning?
Yes — it's an acoustic piano, so the strings are tuned 1–2 times a year, like an ordinary one. The electronic silent part needs no tuning. We can recommend a tuner.
Which brands and where to buy?
Yamaha Silent (b1 SC3, U1 SH3), Kawai ATX (K-200, K-300) and AURES, Petrof and Ritmüller with Adsilent. Grands with Silent — to order. Delivery across Ukraine; pickup in Kyiv. Phone +380 (73) 060 01 01.
