Selection guide
FE-1150T and 100 V lines
Fonestar specifies a 100 V line transformer, selectable power taps and IP66 protection for FE-1150T. Calculate the connected load using the selected taps of all loudspeakers. Check mounting accessories and availability of the required model separately.
Speech or music
Check intended use and frequency range. A paging loudspeaker may have different priorities from a music horn. For background music, assess the individual model’s suitability rather than output level alone.
Direction and distance
Define the required area, distance and ambient noise. Placement should account for directivity and obstacles. Large sites benefit from system design rather than relying on one powerful source.
Environment and mounting
Check documented protection, operating temperature, corrosion resistance and cable-entry arrangements. Outdoor installation requires suitable construction and hardware; these are not universal properties of every horn.
Speaker lines and amplification
Check whether the system uses low-impedance loads or distributed 70/100 V lines. Transformer-based lines require the selected loudspeaker taps and total load to be considered. Confirm multiple operating modes for the individual model rather than assuming them from the category name.
Music, announcements and zones
Decide where one programme can be shared and where independent sources or levels are needed. Check announcement priority and staff access to controls separately. Switching a zone on does not establish the ability to send it a separate music programme.
Installation and commissioning
Agree on cable routes, mounting hardware, service access and line labelling. After installation, check coverage, levels and announcements in the required areas. Sites with special requirements need equipment selection as part of a project design.
