A microphone for the desktop
The Audix USB12 combines a miniature condenser capsule, flexible gooseneck and desktop base in one unit. It is intended for voice and acoustic instrument recording, podcasts and remote communication. Two flexible sections help position the capsule towards the speaker while leaving useful space for a screen, keyboard and documents on the desk.
Cardioid pickup and digital audio
The cardioid pattern concentrates pickup towards the front and reduces the contribution of surrounding sound. The USB12 covers 50 Hz–16 kHz and supports 16-bit audio at 44.1 or 48 kHz for recording and playback. Keeping a consistent speaking distance and checking the recording level help maintain an even result throughout a session.
Control during a conversation
The membrane button provides latching on/off operation or audio transmission while the button is held down. A bass roll-off filter helps reduce unwanted low-frequency noise. The 3.5 mm headphone output allows monitoring during use, making it easier to check a spoken passage or an instrument recording without relying solely on a level display.
Connection and supplied accessories
Audio and power travel over USB, with a USB-B socket at the rear of the base. A USB cable and foam windscreen are supplied. The foam helps reduce breath noise close to the capsule. After connection, select the USB12 in the computer or recording application and check the button setting before starting the session.
