A manageable reach in 1/2 size
Cort AC50 Open Pore is a classical guitar. Consider the 1/2 format if a full-size body or the reach to the first frets feels too large. It suits work on chords, fingerpicking and reading music; choose the size by posture and reach.
Size: 1/2; top: Spruce; scale length: 534 mm; nut width: 44.5 mm.

Construction and playing feel
Top: Spruce; back and sides: Mahogany; neck: Mahogany; fingerboard: Merbau; bridge: Laurel.
To assess the sound, play separate bass and treble notes, then an arpeggio carrying a melody. This reveals the balance between registers and the response to your attack. A wood name alone does not establish an instrument’s volume or character.
Fit and playing feel
size: 1/2; scale length: 534 mm; nut width: 44.5 mm; number of frets: 18.
Compared with a common 52 mm classical nut, this neck is narrower. It may feel more familiar after a steel-string or electric guitar, while leaving less room for the fingers in demanding classical chord shapes.
A child or an adult with a shorter reach should be able to reach first position without stretching the shoulder forward. An age range cannot replace a fitting; compare adjacent sizes, ideally with a teacher.
Sound and practical use
Normal playing needs no amplifier because the acoustic body produces the sound. An external microphone is suitable for recording. Try pointing it near the neck-to-body joint, then vary distance and angle while listening to the balance of bass and attack.
During practice, vary picking-hand position: closer to the bridge gives a more focused attack, while moving toward the soundhole gives a rounder sound. Play the same passage quietly and more strongly, maintaining steady timing and clear adjacent strings.

Accessories for this guitar
Linked accessories are sold separately unless listed as included. Compatibility depends on the dimensions and construction of your exact guitar.
Replacement strings
Choose a classical set with suitable scale length and tension. Steel acoustic strings are not a replacement for a nylon-string set. Scale: 534 mm.
Gig bags / cases
Check overall length, body width and depth. A size label alone does not guarantee a correct fit. Model size: 1/2.
Tuners / metronomes
A tuner helps you tune accurately before practice. A metronome supports steady rhythm, gradual increases in exercise tempo and even arpeggios.
Footstools and guitar supports
Help maintain a comfortable neck angle. Choose a height that suits your posture; suction-cup supports need a compatible body finish.
Stands and hangers
For storage between practice sessions. Check support width, stability and whether the padding is compatible with the guitar’s finish.
Guitar care
Use a soft cloth for routine wiping. Choose body and fingerboard products for the material; gloss polish can change the appearance of a matte surface.
Music stands
Bring sheet music or lesson materials to a comfortable height. This makes it easier to read without continually leaning toward a desk and shifting the instrument.
Capos
For changing the key of an accompaniment. Match fingerboard width and radius; classical and steel-string guitars may need different capo designs.

Which replacement strings should I choose?
A classical-guitar set with suitable tension. Do not install a steel acoustic-guitar set. This model’s scale length: 534 mm.
