Headless construction with flexible tone controls
CORT Artisan Space 5 (Star Dust Green) is a 5-string bass. The pickup system is Bartolini MK-1 Pickup Set. Its 34″ (864mm) scale length is the nut-to-bridge distance; consider it when choosing strings and comparing playing feel.
The five-string layout provides a low B in standard B–E–A–D–G tuning. It is useful for lines below the open E and lets some phrases stay within a single position. The wider fingerboard also rewards deliberate muting, especially when moving quickly between strings.

Construction and playing feel
The neck material is Roasted Maple, Walnut, Purple Heart & Maple 7-ply Laminated, with a fingerboard of Roasted Maple.
The bolt-on joint is a practical construction for servicing. Fretting-hand comfort depends not only on material but also on neck relief, string height and playing posture.
Nut specification: 1 27/32″ (47mm) at 0 Fret. Consider this together with neck profile when comparing the feel of different basses.
The headless design moves tuning to the bridge end. Removing the traditional headstock reduces the overall instrument length while the 34-inch scale preserves familiar fret spacing.
Sound and controls
The pair of pickups lets you work with the attack and density of a bass line. Try the neck position for a rounder accompaniment sound and the bridge position for a more focused response. Strings, playing intensity and amplifier settings also contribute to the final sound, so the pickup balance is a useful starting point rather than a fixed genre preset. The active EQ adjusts the frequency balance on the instrument itself. Start from a neutral setting and make small changes while watching the available headroom at the amplifier input.
In practice
For this design, string compatibility with the headless clamps and bridge is particularly important. Check the permitted gauge, attachment type and winding length before ordering a set. The shorter overall instrument can also fit a more compact bag, provided its internal dimensions are suitable.

Specifications
Accessories for this bass
Choose accessories to fit the instrument’s construction. Linked accessories are sold separately unless listed as included.
Bass guitar strings
Choose a 5-string set. Instrument scale: 34″ (864mm). Check compatibility with the string clamps and winding length at each fixing point.
Gig bags / hard cases
Check the instrument’s full length, body width and neck support. A headless instrument needs secure support inside a bag sized for its shorter overall length.
Bass straps
Choose a comfortable width and adjustment range. Check that both strap ends sit securely on the buttons before playing standing up.
Instrument cables
For a conventional bass-amp connection, choose a shielded 6.35 mm TS-to-TS instrument cable. Short patch cables are primarily intended for connections between pedals.
Tuners
Choose a chromatic tuner that tracks low bass notes reliably. A pedal tuner suits a plugged-in setup; a clip-on is convenient for quick tuning.
Stands and hangers
Check the body supports and finish-safe contact surfaces. The stand should hold this instrument’s particular shape securely.
Instrument care
Use a soft cloth after playing. Choose body and fingerboard products for the actual material and finish; an all-purpose polish is not suitable for every surface.
Bass combo amps / audio interfaces
For rehearsals, choose bass amplification with enough output for the band. For home recording, look for an interface with a Hi-Z instrument input and headphone monitoring.
