Neck and playing feel
Neck: Roasted Maple. Fingerboard: Roasted Maple. Construction: Bolt-on Neck. Frets: 22 Jumbo stainless steel C.F.S. / Xpert fret edge treatment. The compound fingerboard radius is rounder near the nut and flatter towards the upper frets. This balances chord comfort with room for string bending higher up the neck.
The Circle Fretting System uses a slight curve in each fret so that the strings cross it at right angles. FGN designed this geometry to improve articulation and pitch accuracy. It complements normal string-height and bridge-intonation adjustment.
Jumbo stainless steel frets and Xpert edge treatment provide a smooth surface for bends and position changes. Roasted maple is used for both the neck and fingerboard of this Expert Odyssey version.
Pickups and switching
Neck and middle single-coils are complemented by a bridge humbucker. This layout combines clear rhythm textures with a fuller voice for riffs and lead parts. The selector and this model’s additional functions determine the available combinations.
Controls: 1Volume, 1Tone, 5Way Lever SW, Bridge Pickup Kill Mini SW.
The Bridge Pickup Kill mini-switch disables the bridge humbucker. In the selector’s middle position, neck and bridge operate together with Kill off; with Kill on, only the neck remains. In the bridge-only position, Kill mutes the output completely for rhythmic breaks.
Bridge, tuners and strings
Bridge: GOTOH® 510TS-FE1. Tuners: GOTOH® SG381-07 MG-T. The tremolo adds smooth pitch changes to chords and lead phrases. Set it up for the strings and tuning you intend to use.
