AKG C414 XLII Reference Multi-Pattern Microphone for Vocals and Solo Instruments
The AKG C414 XLII combines modern transformerless C414 electronics with the subtle presence lift and spatial reproduction inspired by the classic AKG C12. It is especially suited to lead vocals, solo instruments, classical music and more distant microphone placement.
Nine selectable polar patterns
The selector provides five main patterns—omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid and figure-eight—plus four intermediate settings. Controls can be disabled for live sound or permanent installations.
Level and low-frequency control
Three pads at −6, −12 and −18 dB support sources up to 158 dB SPL. Filters at 40, 80 and 160 Hz reduce wind noise, stage vibration and proximity effect. A peak-hold LED captures even short overload peaks.
