A suspended modular installation
The AKG HM1000 positions a microphone capsule above a performance area, choir or conference space. Hanging the microphone leaves the stage clear of floor stands and makes the installation less conspicuous. As a Discreet Acoustics Modular installation module, it works with a separately selected capsule chosen for the acoustic requirements of the room.
Choose the appropriate capsule
The HM1000 accepts DAM capsule modules CK31, CK32, CK33, CK47 and CK80. The chosen capsule determines the pickup pattern and acoustic behaviour, allowing the system to suit the performers and the venue. A threaded connection secures the capsule. Switch the sound system off before changing it to avoid unwanted connection noise in the signal path.
Cable and accurate positioning
The 10 m cable is designed for suspension and to reduce twisting. A spring wire clamp helps aim the capsule and retain its position. An LED ring assists with checking power during setup. Confirm the microphone position with performers in their actual places, taking room acoustics and air movement into account when setting the angle.
Power and connection
The DPA adapter connects the assembly to a microphone input through a balanced three-pin male XLR output. The system requires 9–52 V phantom power. The HM1000 baseline assembly comprises the hanging module and cable, DPA adapter and hanging clamp; the capsule is selected separately. This modular arrangement lets the acoustic choice follow the installation requirements.
