❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does the Rigotti Wild differ from the Rigotti Gold?
The Rigotti Wild is made from wild cane rather than the traditionally cultivated cane used in the Gold series. The Wild features a thicker tip for greater durability and a thinner bevel for a brighter, punchier tone. The strength ratings are the same across both series.
What is wild cane?
Wild cane grows in natural conditions without cultivation. It has a slightly different fibre structure compared to cultivated cane, giving Wild reeds their characteristic sound and colour. The natural variability of the material may result in minor differences between individual reeds.
What music styles is the Rigotti Wild suited to?
Thanks to its bright and punchy character, the Wild is particularly well suited to contemporary music styles. It also performs well in orchestral playing, big bands and jazz.
Which strength is right for a beginner?
Beginners typically start with softer strengths such as #1.5 or #2. Strength #2.5 is the softest and suits those just starting out or who prefer minimal resistance. More experienced players generally use strengths in the #2.5–3.5 range.
