Drum Kit TAMA IP52H6WBN-BOB
The TAMA IP52H6WBN-BOB is a 5-piece drum kit from the Imperialstar series in Black Out Black finish. Shells are made from 100% poplar, 6-ply / 8 mm — a tonewood used in drum production for over 50 years, delivering a full, warm sound with medium attack. The package includes a complete Stage Master hardware pack, an Iron Cobra 200 bass drum pedal, and a throne.
Imperialstar attracts beginners with its price point, but shell quality, TAMA's precision bearing edge cutting, and reliable hardware make it a genuinely enjoyable kit for experienced players too — across any genre from jazz and R&B to rock.
🥁 Sound Characteristics
- ✔️ 100% poplar, 6-ply / 8 mm — warm, full sound with medium attack; a material trusted for 50+ years
- ✔️ TAMA precision bearing edges — full, open tone with a wide range of tuning, sensitivity, and response
- ✔️ Wooden bass drum hoops — improved aesthetics and additional resonance
- ✔️ Omnisphere tom mounting — maximum shell resonance freedom without obstruction from hardware
🔧 Key Design Features
The Iron Cobra 200 pedal is engineered using the same design principles as the flagship Iron Cobra 900 series: smooth, light action without sacrificing power or speed. The Omnisphere tom mounting system — trusted by drummers for over 25 years — uses L-Rod mounts that attach externally without penetrating the shell, allowing the full surface area to resonate freely. The Imperialstar bass drum legs provide maximum strength and stability even during intense playing.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are cymbals included?
No. Cymbal and hi-hat stands are included in the hardware pack, but cymbals themselves must be purchased separately. Contact the SoundsGood team for available cymbal options.
Why is poplar a good shell material for drums?
Poplar has been used in drum shell construction for over 50 years. It produces a warm, full sound with medium attack — a balanced tone that suits most genres. Its combination of availability and excellent acoustic properties has made it the standard material for entry and mid-level drum kits.
What is the Omnisphere mounting system and why is it better?
Omnisphere is a tom mounting system that attaches externally without penetrating the drum shell. Unlike standard systems with bolts that pass through the shell and can restrict vibration, Omnisphere mounts allow the full shell surface to resonate freely, improving tone, sensitivity, and response.
What pedal is included?
The kit includes the Iron Cobra 200 bass drum pedal — engineered using the same design principles as the flagship Iron Cobra 900 series. It delivers smooth, light action without sacrificing power or speed, and is one of the best-included pedals in any kit at this price point.
What hardware is included?
The full Stage Master hardware pack includes: snare stand, cymbal stand, hi-hat stand, double tom holder, and throne. Cymbals are not included and must be purchased separately.
Is this kit suitable for beginners?
Yes. The Imperialstar is one of the most popular choices for beginner and student drummers — due to its accessible price, complete hardware package, and genuine shell quality. The build quality is high enough to remain relevant as the player develops their skills.
What is the drum configuration in this kit?
The IP52H6WBN-BOB includes 5 drums: a 22×18" bass drum, 14×5" snare, 10×7" rack tom 1, 12×8" rack tom 2, and 16×14" floor tom. This is the standard 5-piece configuration, optimal for most musical genres.
