🌲 Viola Materials

🔹 Top — solid spruce

Spruce is the traditional material for string instrument tops. It's characterized by an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio, providing superb resonance and sound projection.

🔹 Back and ribs — solid maple

Maple adds brightness and projection to the instrument. The dense wood reflects sound waves from the spruce top, creating a complex interaction that forms the viola's tonal complexity.

🔹 Fingerboard — ebony

Ebony is the hardest material for fingerboards. It provides a smooth surface for comfortable playing, excellent wear resistance, and clear sound transmission.
