📝 How to Practice Effectively

Practice Session Structure (30-60 min):

Warm-up (5-10 min): Scales, open strings, simple exercises
Technique (10-15 min): Études, difficult passages
Repertoire (15-25 min): Pieces you're working on
Sight-reading (5-10 min): New material

Practice Tips:

🎯 Slow and accurate — speed comes with accuracy
🎯 Work on difficult spots — don't just repeat easy parts
🎯 Use a metronome — develop sense of rhythm
🎯 Take breaks — every 20-30 minutes
🎯 Record yourself — listen and analyze

🎻 Violin Playing Technique Basics

Posture:

Violin — on collarbone, supported by chin
Left hand — supports neck, curved fingers
Right hand — holds bow, relaxed grip
Posture — straight back, relaxed shoulders

Bow Technique:

Parallel to bridge — for clean sound
Pressure — don't press, let arm weight work
Speed — adjust for dynamics
Contact point — between fingerboard and bridge

⚠️ Common Beginner Mistakes

Mistake	Problem	Solution
Tense left hand	Poor intonation, pain	Relax hand, curve fingers
Pressing bow	"Scratchy" sound	Use arm weight, not pressure
Bow not parallel	Uneven sound	Practice in front of mirror
Raised shoulder	Tension, pain	Relax shoulders, use rest
Playing too fast	Inaccurate intonation	Slow and accurate, then faster
