Phantom power for two microphones
The Audix APS2 provides 48 V phantom power for two condenser microphones through separate connection paths. It is useful when the receiving microphone inputs do not provide the required power, or when an external supply suits the setup. The unit sits between the microphones and the receiving equipment, maintaining an individual output for each microphone signal.
Clear input and output routing
The front panel carries MIC 1 and MIC 2 inputs alongside their corresponding OUTPUT 1 and OUTPUT 2 connections. Each microphone connects to a female XLR input; its matching male XLR output feeds a microphone input on the mixer or other device. All four audio connectors are full-size three-pin XLRs, with labels that make routing easy to follow.
Mains connection and controls
The APS2 operates from the mains and has an inlet for a removable power cable. A rear power switch controls the unit, while a front indicator shows its power status. Match the mains supply to the rating marked on the actual unit when preparing the system. Audio cables and the mains connection are arranged on opposite sides of the enclosure.
Integration into an audio setup
The metal enclosure can be placed beside the main audio equipment. Its two channels supply a compatible pair of condenser microphones and route their signals to separate inputs. Gain, recording level and further processing are set on the receiving equipment. The standalone APS2 complements the microphones, cables and microphone inputs selected for the system.
