KX507MS Pale Moon in detail
The natural Pale Moon Ebony grain gives each KX507MS its own appearance. Its seven-string 648–686 mm multiscale extends the bass strings, while 24 fanned stainless steel frets suit frequent playing. Fishman Fluence Modern pickups offer multiple voices: push-pull volume selects Voice 1/2, and push-pull tone accesses the single-coil character of Voice 3. Locking tuners and individual saddles simplify maintenance of its extended range.
Construction and playing feel
Body: Mahogany. Neck: 5-Piece Maple / Purple Heart. Fingerboard: Macassar Ebony. Top: Pale Moon Ebony. The 648–686 mm scale is paired with 24 frets and a 52.3 mm nut width. The D Shape profile describes the shape of the back of the neck.
The 400 mm fingerboard radius describes its crosswise curvature. Stainless steel frets provide wear resistance for frequent playing. Consider the radius together with the neck profile, action and your approach to bending strings.
Pickups and controls
The Fishman Fluence Modern 7-String Set system uses a HH layout. Controls: 1 Volume Push/Pull (Voice 1/2) / 1 Tone Push/Pull (Humbucker/Voice 3). The selector provides 3 positions.
The active electronics require power. They suit saturated gain and defined rhythm work. Unplug the instrument cable after playing to conserve battery life.
Bridge and maintenance
The fixed Individual Hardtail String-Through-Body bridge suits riff work and lead playing without an arm. Stretch new strings before final tuning, and check intonation and neck relief after a gauge change. Set intonation in your intended tuning.
The hardware includes Cort Locking tuners. Factory string gauge: D’Addario EXL110-7 (.010–.059). Wiping the strings and hardware after playing helps maintain the instrument.
