FGN Expert Iliad EIL-EW2-HS-RM (Vintage Natural) is a 6-string electric guitar with a 648 mm scale and 22 frets.
This version combines a Vintage Natural finish, FGN XPERT-H2 (Neck) / FGN 52T-HOT-R (Bridge) pickups and a Gotoh GTC201 bridge. It supports rhythm parts, melodies and technique practice; your amplifier and picking approach also shape the final sound.

Expert Iliad EIL-EW2-HS-RM in detail
The Expert Iliad EW2 pairs a decorative koa top with an ash back. Both the neck and fingerboard use roasted maple. CFS gives the frets a subtle curve, while Xpert Fret Edge treatment refines their ends. The neck XPERT-H2 is a humbucker; the bridge 52T-HOT-R is a T-style single coil. A mini switch changes the neck pickup’s operating mode. A fixed Gotoh GTC201 and gold hardware complete a guitar combining traditional bridge attack with broader neck-pickup options.
Construction and playing feel
Body: Ash. Neck: Roasted Maple. Fingerboard: Roasted Maple. Top: Koa. The 648 mm scale is paired with 22 frets. The U profile describes the shape of the back of the neck.
The 250–350 mm fingerboard radius describes its crosswise curvature. This compound radius becomes flatter towards the upper frets. Stainless steel frets provide wear resistance for frequent playing. Consider the radius together with the neck profile, action and your approach to bending strings.
Pickups and controls
The FGN XPERT-H2 (Neck) / FGN 52T-HOT-R (Bridge) system uses a SH layout. Controls: Master Volume / Master Tone / Mini Coil-Tap Switch. The selector provides 3 positions.
The humbucker element of this layout suits full chords and overdriven lead parts. Try different selector positions with the amplifier settings unchanged to hear differences in attack and frequency balance.
Bridge and maintenance
The fixed Gotoh GTC201 bridge suits riff work and lead playing without an arm. Stretch new strings before final tuning, and check intonation and neck relief after a gauge change. Set intonation in your intended tuning.
The hardware includes Gotoh SG381-07 MG-T Locking tuners. Factory string gauge: .010–.046. Wiping the strings and hardware after playing helps maintain the instrument.
