The PRS Silver Sky Tungsten is an electric guitar that unites the vintage aesthetics of classic '60s instruments with modern manufacturing precision and stability. Created in collaboration with John Mayer as an idealized version of the classic three-single-coil guitar: the familiar warm, detailed tone — without excess harshness, with modern solutions in every detail. Made in the USA, finished in nitrocellulose in the understated metallic Tungsten shade, with a genuine PRS gig bag included.
🏆 SoundsGood — genuine PRS instruments only, with full warranty and service support.
A Modern Interpretation of a Classic
The Silver Sky keeps the familiar voice of classic single-coil guitars while adding solutions that improve stability, comfort and control. The alder body delivers a balanced tone with a tight attack, expressive mids and smooth highs — the guitar reads beautifully both in solo playing and in a mix. Attention to detail is everywhere: from the neck profile and headstock shape to the tremolo design — so the instrument sounds utterly natural and predictable in any conditions.
635JM Pickups: Warm Vintage Tone
The three 635JM single-coils are designed to deliver the classic vintage tone without excess harshness in the top end: a round, full sound with excellent detail and dynamics. They're equally musical clean and with light overdrive, while the 5-way switch, master volume and two tone controls open the entire classic palette — from a chiming neck position to a springy bridge.
The 635JM-R Neck: Comfort in Every Position
The maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard carries the signature 635JM-R profile — classic-form comfort meets modern ergonomics. The vintage 7.25" (184 mm) radius makes chords and rhythm parts feel natural, and the neck depth grows gradually from the first to the twelfth fret, adding a sense of stability. The 42 mm bone nut improves vibration transfer, a double-acting truss rod with front access simplifies adjustment, and the signature Small Birds inlays remind you this is a true PRS.
PRS Steel Tremolo and Locking Tuners
The signature PRS Steel Tremolo sits flush with the body and works primarily for down-bends — exactly the setup that yields maximum tuning stability. The Gen III knife-edge screws return the system precisely to its starting position after every bar movement, and the steel construction adds springiness and sustain to the tone. Stability is further supported by vintage-style locking tuners and thoughtful headstock geometry; the curved metal jack plate is another practical premium touch.

Who It's For
The PRS Silver Sky Tungsten is built for musicians who value the balance of vintage character and modern stability: blues, funk, pop, indie, classic rock — and confident work in more modern genres too. It's an instrument for recording clean, detailed guitar in the studio, for live shows with active tremolo use, and for daily practice without compromise. John Mayer fans need no explanation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Silver Sky differ from classic single-coil guitars?
It's PRS and John Mayer's "idealized" take on the '60s classic: the familiar single-coil voice, but with modern manufacturing precision, the more stable Gen III tremolo, locking tuners and thoughtful headstock geometry.
What do the 635JM pickups sound like?
A warm, round vintage tone with good detail and dynamics — no harshness in the highs. They excel clean and with light overdrive.
Why the vintage 7.25" radius?

How does the Silver Sky tremolo work?
The steel tremolo sits flush with the body and works primarily for down-bends; the Gen III knife-edge screws return it precisely to its starting position — the tuning holds even with active bar use.
Is a gig bag included?

What is the warranty?
12 months on the instrument's electronic and mechanical components.
