Friedman Vintage-S (Metallic Blue) is a 6-string electric guitar with a 648 mm scale and 22 frets.
This version combines a Metallic Blue finish, Friedman Classic Plus (Bridge) / 2 × Classic Single pickups and a Two-Point Tremolo / Bent Metal Saddles bridge. It supports rhythm parts, melodies and technique practice; your amplifier and picking approach also shape the final sound.

Vintage-S in detail
The Metallic Blue Vintage-S uses an HSS layout: a stronger Classic Plus bridge humbucker and Classic Single neck and middle pickups. Five positions provide a practical selection for clean accompaniment and rock leads. Its two-point tremolo with bent-steel saddles supports smooth vibrato. Alder, a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard accompany the Classic 60s profile. Aged lacquer and hardware provide Friedman’s deliberately worn appearance.
Construction and playing feel
Body: Alder. Neck: Maple. Fingerboard: Rosewood. The 648 mm scale is paired with 22 frets and a 43 mm nut width. The Classic 60s profile describes the shape of the back of the neck.
The 254–355.6 mm fingerboard radius describes its crosswise curvature. This compound radius becomes flatter towards the upper frets. Consider the radius together with the neck profile, action and your approach to bending strings.
Pickups and controls
The Friedman Classic Plus (Bridge) / 2 × Classic Single system uses a HSS layout. Controls: 1 Volume / 1 Tone. The selector provides 5 positions.
The humbucker element of this layout suits full chords and overdriven lead parts. Additional single-coil positions broaden the clean and rhythm sounds available. Try different selector positions with the amplifier settings unchanged to hear differences in attack and frequency balance.

Bridge and maintenance
The Two-Point Tremolo / Bent Metal Saddles tremolo adds vibrato to chords and melodies. Smooth arm use, correctly wound strings or secure locking tuners, and a properly functioning nut help the guitar return to pitch. Check action and intonation after changing string gauges.
The hardware includes Vintage Kluson tuners. Factory string gauge: .010–.046. Wiping the strings and hardware after playing helps maintain the instrument.
