Place a microphone close to the source
The Gator Frameworks GFW-MIC-0821 is a short stand for positioning a microphone near a kick drum, guitar amplifier or another low sound source. The manufacturer also specifies desktop use. A separate boom reaches towards the recording position while the base stays to one side, making the design useful where a tall floor tripod would occupy unnecessary space.
A compact weighted foundation
The rectangular metal base has a weighted construction and a non-slip underside. It supports the upright without folding legs extending around equipment. Choose a level surface and leave room to adjust the boom. Position the base with the microphone and cable route in mind when setting up beside a drum, cabinet or on a desk.
Adjust the upright and boom separately
The upright height can be changed, while the single-section boom allows angle and position adjustment relative to the support. This helps aim the microphone at the chosen sound source. Set the position with the holder and connected cable in place, then secure the controls. Small placement changes can be made with the boom while keeping the base in its position.
Threaded mounting and cable management
The boom ends in a threaded mount for a compatible microphone holder. Choose a holder that matches your microphone and the stand connection. An included cable clip helps guide the cable along the stand, leaving slack around the microphone connector. The GFW-MIC-0821 combines a short support and separate boom for close instrument placement or compact desktop microphone positioning.
