Guild Polara Deluxe (Cherry Red). The Guild Polara Deluxe combines a solid mahogany body, a set Vintage Soft U neck and two covered HB-2+ humbuckers. Block inlays, a bound rosewood fingerboard, a compensated stopbar and expanded controls distinguish it from the basic Polara. Separate volume and tone knobs let you adjust the pickups individually. Independent coil splitting adds leaner sounds alongside the full humbucker modes.

Playing comfort depends on action, string gauge and hand position as well as the profile name. Try open chords, position changes and upper-register bends. Fingerboard radius describes curvature, so it is a different measurement from neck thickness.
Pickups and controls
The three-way toggle selects bridge, both or neck. Independent push/pull coil splitting provides eight pickup combinations, including one humbucker in full mode alongside the other in split mode. Compare these settings through the same amplifier setup when recording: different pickup combinations can help separate layered parts. The Tune-o-matic bridge works with a Guild Compensated Stopbar. This model does not use a tremolo system.

A fixed bridge provides a stationary surface for rhythm work and palm muting. Use finger vibrato for expression. When changing tuning or string gauge, check intonation, neck relief and action so that the setup remains suited to your technique.
Playing and recording
Explore the guitar through a clean channel before adding gain. Compare sounds within an arrangement: a setting that seems bright alone may sit clearly beside bass and drums. Leave input headroom when recording through an audio interface, and use your picking hand to control the attack.
