The viola set has its own construction
Pirastro specifies nylon cores throughout the viola Tonica set. A and D are aluminium wound, G is silver wound, and C uses tungsten-silver winding. This is a separate A–D–G–C set. The violin material table and item 412021 cannot be applied to viola item 422021, even though both packages carry the Tonica name.

Why 4/4 is only the starting point
Violas vary in body length and scale. The manufacturer distinguishes a standard version from versions specified by vibrating string length; centimetres in that table should not be read as body length. Before ordering 422021, check the information on your current set or confirm the working length with a luthier. This matters especially for an unusually sized or constructed instrument.
Assess C and A in the same passage
Prepare a short passage spanning the low C and upper A. After changing the set, listen for a coherent phrase rather than simply an impressive open-string sound. Check a quiet start on C and legato across neighbouring strings separately. Keep your usual bow and rosin during the comparison so that several simultaneous changes do not obscure what the strings contribute.
Making the choice
Tonica 422021 is an option for a violist seeking a complete nylon-core set in the appropriate size. Make the decision in two steps: confirm compatibility, then assess response on your viola. A string that stands out sharply from the rest may call for a separate setup diagnosis. Keep the packaging and fitting notes to make your next order easier to identify correctly.
